The progress mom is making in such a short time is incredible.
Some events of today:
- Dr. says she should just go HOME and skip the nursing home
- Dr. says maybe Tuesday release from hospital
- Kate and I looked at the wound...it's kind of a miracle..mom's back is STRAIGHT! No humpback whale. For those of you who didn't see her back or wound, it was pretty bulky...now her back is straighter than mine
-nurse who looked at her chart reckons this is her fifth life
- Mom is up on a bedside commode!
-Mom is off the morphine IV and onto Vicodin tablets
-the arterial line is out..
- the wound drains are out.
- mom says she has far less pain than the last surgery.
crazy!

Dear Meg-
What wonderful news... We are all so grateful for
the skilled surgeon's hands, your Mother's incredible courage, and for your love and concern for her and all of us as well.
We love you much and wish you all smooth sailing as she travels home to mend. I'll continue to hold you all in my thoughts and prayers and will watch for the blogs from Kailua where I'll be housesitting in August.
Love and hugs,
Anne

My total, absolute FAVORITE moment of today was reading the blog posting. I am feeling GLEE for this wonderful news of your recovery, Diane. Rest well and we'll see you soon.
Isn't it about time that those stars align for our Diane? And I say, about time!!! Such good news. Just amazing. Helps to have an entire house full of cheerleaders, too, doesn't it?
XOXOXO Araby
