My health news is all good. Last week I saw both the amazing knee replacement doctor and the miraculous back surgeon. Each says that I am doing fine, can do most activities and should return in one year. One year! Fantastic. I still have fatigue issues, a little wobblyness and annoying neuropathy in my feet, but, hey, that's nothin'.
I am busy busy at the Cantor Arts Center and with other related art activities. Touring the exhibit of Chinese ink painters is a treat. My two book clubs keep me reading. A balance class helps me stay straight and steady. I have signed up for an all day Stanford event called "Leading Matters." One of the speakers is Abraham Verghese who wrote "Cutting for Stone." I'll tell you about this afterwards.
Mother's Day was lovely with Vicky and her mother. Meg treated me to a bag of treasures and Kate called from Australia. I hope that all of you mothers had such a wonderful time.
Faculty friends convened for lunch in Mill Valley, CA. We were a small but dedicated group this time.

I feel so lucky that my college friend, Cilla, is able to visit me when she comes to see her son & family in Palo Alto.

Meg and I went to hear Emily (Stan and Judy's daughter) sing in San Francisco. She is a mezzo-soprano and sings beautifully.

And here they are, my precious granddaughters. I really want to see them. I am thinking of going to Australia in September.

I hope that you are doing well. Summer is coming. Great news. That's all for now.
Love,
Diane
