Here I am again with generally good health reports. I did recently catch a flu bug that has been way too persistent despite my arsenal of medicines. I think that I have been coughing for about 3-1/2 weeks!
I did have the dreaded colonoscopy. As you all know, the procedure itself is not so bad as you are heavily drugged. It is the day before that is so bad as you rush to the facilities all afternoon. I decided not to do this again ever. Then again I have identified lots of medical taboos and have retracted them when the doctors said to.
Meg and I went to Taos, NM for 3 weeks. My goal was to write for 4 to 5 hours every day. I am writing a memoir for my grandchildren. I am also trying to write about my medical history. I purchased copies of my medical records from Stanford Hospital and Clinics. The stack is over 7" high! I spent over a week organizing the records by date. I wrote about the first week that I was in the hospital. That was a dramatic and traumatic time. That is as far as I got on the medical history, but I am all the way through college with my memoir.
Meg and I took the high road to Taos. Here is the beautiful church at Chimayo. I should have taken some of the healing dirt there, but I forgot.
We stayed in a charming house near the Taos plaza. We loved the house and wanted to buy it. However, it is not for sale and we couldn't afford it if it were.
On one of our adventurous afternoons we drove to the Gorge of the Rio Grande. Here is proof!
That's it for now. More to come on Taos and vicinity in my next blog. I am waiting for more pictures from friends.
Love to all,
Diane
