long time since last entry

Hello Friends,

It has been two months since I last updated the blog. This is good news. The only health issue concerning me is the neuropathy in my feet. Surely I have mentioned this before. Neuropathy is a loss of nerves and makes the affected body part feel numb. Lots of people have this following chemotherapy. I walk a bit awkwardly and would never pass the police test for walking the line. I talked to my oncologist about it and he referred me to a neurologist. I seriously doubt that anything can be done, but I do have an appointment in a couple of weeks. In the meantime I celebrate every day that I am alive. And now I can celebrate that Osama bin Laden is dead!

Kate and family in Australia are doing well. Meg visited them during her spring break. Naturally I have to share some photos, including that of the newest births in the family.

I gave another presentation, this time to the docents at the Cantor Arts Center. My topic was newly installed masks from the native people of the Northwest Coast. This is the art that interests me most. I wanted to do the presentation from my iPad and spent some time learning how to do this. Here is where you would find me:

The last two months have been filled with the expected jobs - income tax, car servicing, home maintenance. Added pleasures have included dining with friends, reading good books ("Moonwalking with Einstein", "Cleopatra", "Hare with the Amber Eye"), museum tours and a flower arranging class with Vicky. I'll close with a beautiful example:

I hope that all is well with you.
Love, Diane
